When my toner cartridges finally ran out in Mid- July 09, and it was time to replace them with this set, it was long after the date that these were returnable. I loaded all 4 toner cartridges at the same time. The black was absolutely no good, wouldn't produce an image that was anything better than grey. The colors were not vivid. I replaced the black cartridge with a Brother cartridge & it fixed the black image. Even though they were not vivid, I kept the color cartidges in use, as I really don't use color for anything special, and I don't use it much. The color cartridges ran out in Mid September, 09 (even though I am an accounant and use color very little). I did replace the three color cartridges with high capacity OEM cartridges and they print Vivid color. I don't have a way to calculate the difference, as it will be a lenghty amount of time before the replacement cartridges are used up but there is no doubt that I didn't save money by purchasing this product, I actually wound up paying considerably more per page for less quality for the color cartridges, and the black was a 100% loss.
