(More customer reviews)When the cartridge for my HP Laserjet printer ran dry, I looked for a discount price on an HP cartridge. HP keeps a tight lid on the price of its cartridges and available discounts are minor and hard to find. The price of an HP cartridge was almost that of the original price of my printer! I had previously purchased a third-party cartridge and was not completely satisfied. Print quality was sometimes uneven and it seemed to run out of toner sooner than the OEM cartridge. Then I found the Q-Print cartridge on Amazon, a name I had not heard of. The manufacturer, Q-Imaging, is a British corporation that manufactures a large range of replacement print cartridges in China with an emphasis on quality over price. The Q-Print cartridge is new not re-manufactured, well packaged, installs easily, and provides excellent output from the get-go. Although more expensive than other replacement cartridges from independent manufacturers, it is still a major savings from the OEM cartridges. If the number of pages it prints is equal to the HP, it will be well worth the money.
Follow up: I placed a new order for this cartridge after a year of satisfactory use. The price was sharply lower but is available only from an Amazon affiliate, not from Amazon itself. The packaging is not the same (a generic cardboard box rather than the colorful one shown in the photo) and there is no identification of the manufacturer. My original decision to purchase the cartridge was based on the reputation of the manufacturer (www.q-imaging.net). There also were no instructions for installing the cartridge, although it is not a complicated procedure. I reserve final judgment on product quality until I have used this for awhile, but I am disappointed in what appears to be a substitute for what I intended to order. I hope this is not an instance of bait and switch on the part of Amazon.
