(More customer reviews)Amazon is a good place to shop, but my experience with the toner cartridges is less than satisfactory. I actually bought three different type of toner cartridges for as many different printers.
My problem is in that the icon associated with the ones that I selected are for genuine Hewlett Packard. However, of all the units that I got (about 8 in total)none of them is OEM or Hewlett Packard. Some of them are re-filled units and others are simple no-brand cartridges. If fact, the word OEM is misleading. It looks that it can mean different things in different contexts. For instance, an OEM Windows version is one that Microsoft sells for a particular computer brand. A OEM toner cartridge for Hewlett Packard printer would be a toner that this manufacturer sells to Hewlett Packard to put HP label on it. But the actual cartidge that I got has a diffent case and design.
Amazon should be more careful on this.
If they worked, that wouldn't matter to me. The problem is that one of them actually stains the paper. I cleaned the cartridged, but the stain showed up again.
I think HP original cartridges are artificially expensive. That is truth for all type of ink and manufacturers. Alternatives are good and push the price down. However, I think that as a result of how they are advertised, buyers are let to believe that they are purchasing original productos, which is clearly not the case. Next time I will be extra careful.
