(More customer reviews)This little speaker set produced pretty good sound. I'm not an expert on sound quality but it works and gets loud enough in my daughter's room where we have it set up.
There is an adjustable connector on the top where a mp3 player can sit upright or you can use the connector cord for smaller mp3 players like an ipod shuffle. Devices using the connector cord will not get charged while connected, which gets annoying if you forget to remove the shuffle like me and recharge each time.
Speakers can be powered using batteries or direct ac power, however you will need a wall plug converter that takes a usb port since the supplied power cord has a usb port and does not plug directly into the wall (unless you have a wall outlet with a usb port!) Fortunately I had an extra usb wall plug converter from a digital camera so we use that.
If you plan on only using with batteries or can plug into usb port on your computer, then its a good product but I wish I had known I would need a wall plug connector for the power cord. If an ac cord that plugs into a wall outlet had been included, I would have given 4 stars.
