(More customer reviews)UPDATE: The toner cartridge has not been replaced. In addition the seller states it has a 1 year warrnty "with the manufacturer." However, there is no marking on the box or cartridge, there is no paperwork and when we asked for the manufacturers name and contact information, the seller has refused to provide it.
The only logical explanation is that the the seller is a crook. He or she sells items that are defective out of the box, refuses to replace or exchange, and refuses to provide the manufacturers name and contact info.We bought this cartridge at the time we bought the printer. April 2010. The original cartridges (2, Brother brand both) lasted until 2/11. Which is when we put this cartridge in. It was sealed in the bag, never opened. Within 2 weeks it started to squeal and squeak. When I contacted the company they said "toner cartridges do have shelf lives we are not able to take this item back at this time." I never asked for a refund, I asked for a replacement.
Toner cartridges may have a shelf life, but I know it's not anything like 10 months. The cartridge was in a sealed bag. They stated the product has 1 year warranty on Amazon, but they have refused to replace it and it's only been 10 months since purchase.
Since it's squealing and squeaking, it gives me no confidence that they "refurb" or in any other rebuild the cartridge. What it appears they do is just drill out the empty and pour in some more toner and stick a plug in it. Since they also refused to provide a replacement and they tried to BS us about it we will no longer do business with them, and suggest you carefully consider who you buy your toner cartridge from. There is no shortage of people providing this service.
This seems to be a fly-by-night operation. Who else would refuse to replace a product that's still in it's warranty period?
