It is durable. It fell off my belt while I was riding my bike and bounced across a concrete exit ramp. It fell off while I was riding an elevator, rolled into the crack between the elevator and the shaft, and dropped five stories (retrieved by the super). In both cases it worked perfectly after a serious shock.
The design flaw is that it slips off your pants. There's clip that holds it onto your belt or waistband of your pants. If anything brushes against it, it very easily lifts off and falls to the ground. It needs a tighter clip. The one it has is pretty bad.
Five on function. Five on durability. Zero on the clip. Average the ratings and you get a three.
