(More customer reviews)If you have the streaking on pages, it is caused by this part. The printer drum gets hot and the plastic casing on top of the drum sags a bit and there are plastic reinforcement moldings that start to touch the paper after the toner is applied and before the toner is bonded to the paper. There are two options...replace the drum, or you can remove the top casing to the drum. Since the drum is fully enclosed in the printer, there is little likelihood that dust will get into the drum assimbly with the casing removed. In fact, I've run my printer this way for a couple of years. If you search online, you can find the instructions to how to remove it and which screws to remove - it's really a simple process. Hopefully the last reviewer hasn't tossed his cartridge yet and can reuse the original drum after his new drum is worn out.
