It worked well with my MX850 Canon printer, printer recognized the cartridges and printed well, no streaks or blemishes as you might find using one of those re-inking kits. Definte moneysaver, two sets of cartridges for about half the price of 1 offical Canon set. Would buy again.
Now the messy..as other reviewers have noted taking the cap off of the bottom of the cartridges can be messy, I used 3 cartridges (1 black, 1 cyan & 1 yellow) only the cyan did not leak/drip. It wasnt a major mess but I suppose that's the price that you pay for saving a few bucks. I would suggest to others to open over a newspaper or some type of covering and then wipe off bottom before putting in to your printer so that you do not drip ink inside of your printer.
