The toner cartridge arrived and I installed it in my printer only to find it did not have any toner in it. I contacted Vivamart and asked for a refund. They offered to send me a new one, and I could return the old one.
After using the new toner cartridge for 8 months (I don't print much), it started running out after about 1,150 prints instead of the 5,000 it was rated for, even though the chip in the toner cartridge told the printer I still had 55% of my toner left. I have gotten 5,000 pages out of previous toner cartridges and my printing habits haven't changed.
It took me some time to verify that the toner cartridge was the problem. I contacted Dell technical support, adjusted settings, and finally tried out another toner cartridge. It is clear that the toner cartridge Vivamart sold me did not have the correct amount of toner in it.
When I contacted them later through email and didn't get a response within their
24 hour guarantee" in fact I didn't get a response at all. It wasn't until I re-emailed them that they simply told me I was outside of their 180 day warranty, and there was nothing they could do.
I tried calling them during their posted hours of operation but got no answer. When I eventually got through they were polite, but refused to even consider a partial refund, and hung up on me when I asked to speak to a supervisor. When I reached them again, I was told I was now on the phone with the supervisor, and there was nothing they could do.
Vivamart's toner cartridges are shoddy and low quality. Their customer service was hard to get a hold of and not flexible.
Having a gmail email address for a company seems low quality enough, but Vivamart's customer service line is just a magic jack phone number which has a full voicemail if they do not have it turned on.
I continue to like my dell printer, but will not be purchasing toner, or any other products from Vivamart again.
