(More customer reviews)This would be good if you were using up all the ink in each cartridge at least every 9 months or so. If you print a lot of photos year-round it would be a good system. The problem HP built into this system is that the cartridges expire (and may not have much time on them when you buy them--and there is no marking on the box or unit to tell you the expiration date). If you knew that the cartridges had not been sitting around the store and the warehouse you might be ok. If even one of the colors has expired the printer gives an error message and WILL NOT PERMIT YOU TO PRINT. So the net result is YOU HAVE TO THROW AWAY HALF FULL CARTRIDGES!!! This eliminates any potential savings. There is a way to get around this by setting the date on your computer back so the printer thinks that the cartridges are not expired but this is tedious. The ink is still good and they could have simply given a warning and let the customer the right to decide if they wanted to change ink before it was used up. This might be good for a professional or serious amateur photographer. If you print occasionally and are trying to pinch pennies be warned that this printer will not save you money on ink.
