(More customer reviews)We bought this printer to replace an HP multifunction printer that lasted about 4 years before the logic board went belly up.. I did quite a bit of searching around and decided to get our first laser printer for home use. We did not need a fax machine (we use VOIP at home -- used to use Vonage but now using OOMA) and they frequently do NOT work with these types of services -- so no need to spend extra $$ for something not to be used.
Anyway, this is our first Lexmark printer and I wanted something that would not produce papers that could run their inks if they got a little wet for some reason (unlike the HP). Anyway, since the kids have school projects, we also bought a Canon Selphy photo printer for doing 4x6 photos and that way I could get away with this black-n-white printer. Anyway, we've had it for a while now and it works great -- no replacement parts yet or toner either.. We've probably run about 3-4 reams of paper through it without issues. We've got it hard-wired up to a gigabit Ethernet switch (no WIFI used here) and I've used the copier, scanner and of course the printer. Even the envelope printing works fine in the few times I've used it.. I guess time will tell if this printer will last beyond the typical 3-5 years before it needs to be replaced like all of the printers I've had in the past.
