When printing on high gloss paper the toner seems to run (as compared to the official HP Toner); also with the last batch of toners, there is a pink edge to all paper printed, unless you turn off color printing altogether and print only in black.
I guess I will have a chance to checkout the guarantee.
Based on this experience I would knock this product down to 2 stars.

This is an excellent alternative to the HP toner cartridges; I have been through three sets of 4 HP cartridges this year, at $450 or so a pop, this really adds-up. I am lawyer and also do a lot of my own printing of marketing materials and also print client related products from my home office. I have found the printer itself to be a good buy as far as functionality. The major limiting factor was the cost of toner. As always I was hesitant to go with the generic I figured it was worth the risk to save 150 dollars; on arrival I also noticed there is a satisfaction guarantee. I ran a couple test pages to check the quality and clarity of new toner and it appears there is not difference between the HP and the generic. There are two exceptions which should be noted: (1) it appears you cannot recycle the toner cartridges through the manufacturer (but I just drop them off locally at a recycle center); (2) the printer does not identify the cartridges as HP genuine -- however -- there is no annoying alert. There also appears to be a little cap that can be removed -- I am thinking someone a little more hardware skilled then myself probably could re-fill these cartridges. As far as lawyers go, I use photo-shop, in-desgin, etc -- so I know a little more then the average lawyer about printing quality.
