(More customer reviews)I was purchasing recycled cartridges at $35 to $80 or having them refilled locally at $65 each, but I found this handy refill kit for my Canon L50 cartridge for $15. I tried my first kit which seems to be good quality ink compared to the manufacturer's ink. Since it's high yield, I should print over 5,000 pages.
It was easy to fill the cartridge, providing you know where the ink well access is. The handy screw on spout works well and I used one bottle to fill my L50 cartridge. The instructions are for an HP 2100 series cartridge, but Canon and Xerox use the same cartridge per past technicians. I used the handy latex gloves that come with the kit. Use them as the ink can be slightly messy. But the ink comes off with water and soap.
Another tip is be sure to wear glasses or goggles and a good face mask as the ink is very fine and spreads in the air quickly when trying to fill the cartridge, if not done carefully. You don't want to breathe the ink. Place cartridge on paper to catch any spilling. Use your vacuum cleaner to clean up the excess ink if spilled. Use a paper towel and water to clean up the remaining ink. It wouldn't hurt to wear an apron the first time to prevent staining your clothes as a safety precaution. Also vacuum the ink inside the printer or copier where the cartridge fits, as ink is like dust and can hurt the printing if not kept clean inside.
